Samsung fires from all pipes at the beginning of the year and introduces the new Galaxy S20 series, consisting of the “Normal, Plus and Ultra” versions. After the competition had clearly overtaken Samsung in terms of camera and battery in previous years, expectations were very high – but with the Galaxy S20, the company is going full steam ahead.
In addition to the new design with rounded edges, a display that reduces blue light emissions better than before and a glass back cover, the camera of the new S20 series is clearly in focus. The main camera of the S20 & S20+ models have 12MP, the main camera of the S20 Ultra even 108(!) MP, which promises excellent results even in low light conditions. In Night Mode, up to 30 images are combined to give crystal clear images with minimal image noise. There’s also a 12 MP ultra-wide angle and an optical zoom lens with a 64 MP sensor. In combination with the high resolution, Samsung allows a hybrid 3x zoom without affecting the image quality and a 30x digital zoom. With the strongest zoom in a Galaxy smartphone, you can get far away things up close. It doesn’t matter if you’re standing in the back row at a music festival, you can zoom in in seconds and feel like you’re right in front of the stage!
With its 8k resolution, Samsung has also taken the video function a step further. This gives you the highest resolution ever seen on a Galaxy smartphone, and enjoys incredible detail, so you can even capture 33 megapixels of freeze frames from a video recording to capture unique moments as a photo.
Now, if you’re worried that you’re playing around with your new camera too much and therefore don’t have any storage left, you can be reassured. With up to 512GB of internal storage and the ability to add an extra 1TB of storage via microSD card, you’ll have less to delete and can easily keep your files.
The battery will also hold out for many shootings without any problems, as the 4,500 mAh battery provides plenty of power and fast charging with the 25 Watt quick charge function.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 series has the potential to bring Samsung back to the top. All devices come with 5G on request. In addition, there are the excellent cameras and actually everything you could wish for from a smartphone. It will be available from the middle of March, but the prices are very expensive: the S20 starts at 899 Euros – 100 Euros more with 5G and more RAM. The Galaxy S20+ will then start at 999 Euro – again 100 Euro more for 5G and more RAM. The S20 Ultra has the highest price: 1349 Euro for 5G and 128GB, 1.549 Euro for 5G and 512 GB.
That is very much, but it’s also the best that is currently available. We are excited to hear more about the new S20 series soon!
